Recommended Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Data Management

This document provides recommendations for uniformity in electrical energy storage data management including bandwidth and storage optimization, and architecture selection based on stakeholder requirements. The document covers recommendations on data structure, organization, and transmission including bandwidth, latency, storage, retention, and cybersecurity. This document also provides guidance on data collection in typical electrical energy storage systems including attributes such as measurement points, sample rates, and error management. This document provides recommendations to facilitate clear communication in the procurement process between an energy storage buyer and supplier. This document covers stationary electrical energy storage systems, including transportable systems that are stationary in operation, but not personal electronics or electric vehicles. This document does not cover energy storage technologies that have non-electrical output.

Other Activities From This Working Group

Current projects that have been authorized by the IEEE SA Standards Board to develop a standard.

No Active Projects

Standards approved by the IEEE SA Standards Board that are within the 10-year lifecycle.

No Active Standards

These standards have been replaced with a revised version of the standard, or by a compilation of the original active standard and all its existing amendments, corrigenda, and errata.

No Superseded Standards

These standards have been removed from active status through a ballot where the standard is made inactive as a consensus decision of a balloting group.

No Inactive-Withdrawn Standards

These standards are removed from active status through an administrative process for standards that have not undergone a revision process within 10 years.
